0 Random gift wrapping idea - Baby Shower

Monday, April 06, 2009
This is a cute gift for a baby shower I made up. I figure someone has probably done this before, who knows. I've heard great minds think alike... which kind of scares me that someone might have thought of this before I did, or vice versa. :|

Anyway, I had a tiny piece of scrap wrapping paper left over, and decided to use it on this last baby shower gift. I had all the other bags full and couldn't add any more to the bags, because the tissue paper wouldn't stay in. So, I had a small empty tissue box that I stuffed gifts inside at the tissue box opening. I then wrapped a long strip of wrapping paper around all four sides of the tissue box, and what I had left, I cut into two small squares for the top and bottom parts of the tissue box.

I put a square of wrapping paper on the bottom, then I taped a top square on the top of the tissue box, and then cut a slit in the top for the opening. I took three small pieces of decorative tissue paper and tried my best to twist it in the shape of a flower, leaving the extra that is twisted to shove in the tissue box opening.

I used two colors (blue & yellow), leaving blue to be the dominant color of the yellow. Also, I overlapped the tissue paper blue, yellow, blue, making each new tissue layer that's in the center smaller than the last tissue paper piece (e.g. Outer blue tissue paper - big, middle yellow - medium, and last center piece of blue tissue - small.)

Once I had the decorative tissue paper adjusted nicely, I then cut a lot of the long pieces of tissue paper off to make it look more like a flower was on top. The only thing the person that's receiving the gift has to do, is pull the top off and reach in for the goodies. :) I hope this was a fun idea for anyone that likes making fun and unique gifts! :D

The steps below are in order from left to right. :)

0 Card design idea - Baby Shower

I wanted to post this up for a long time, since last year actually, but just now found it to get it posted. LOL! It's a baby shower theme I made myself on the front of the envelope, and then I drew a baby basket on the bottom. It was nothing detailed or too sloppy either. It was something I thought was cute and unique that would catch their attention.

I always text inside a card for the person to read, and the regular "Love, God Bless, Your Friend", (just to name a few anyway)at the end of the card, along with the name of who it came from at the end. So I add my own pictures inside a card because it's different, and not very many card companies are doing it, and if they do, they're expensive to buy most of the time. If you like the idea of doing this with cards, cool! Glad I could help us both to use our imaginations to think outside the box. :)
